From concept to completion

Early in the development of a project we would conduct a site survey to understand the context of your building and aspirations. Often this would be in conjunction with your design team. Thinking creatively about the space available and how best to develop the site within budget will generate the vision of the project.

Taking the vision forward from concept to detailed design is an exciting process. We work closely with the client on the journey from initial idea as project starts to take shape. Collaborating with architects and understanding the importance of good design is at the heart of our business. Using the latest technology, VR and 3D visualisation, we are able to understand what the finished building looks like and how it will operate so that the design can be fine tuned.

We follow the latest code of practice, developed by RIBA for the implementation of Offsite Construction using the Design for Manufacture & Assemby (DfMA) Overlay for the RIBA Plan of Works.

Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) moves the design to the shopfloor. The repeatability in the design allows high levels of productivity and quality control to be achieved, whilst reducing the time to construct on site considerably.

The benefits of offsite assembly are: reduced programme, improved quality of build and increased safety due to the reduction in activity on site.

Maxi Space operate from a 10 acre site in Billericay, Essex with good transport links to London and the rest of the UK and Europe.

The coordination of the external works package with both onsite and offsite elements requires a high level of control and precision.

Detailed procedural planning is required to ensure that the pace of delivery is maximised. Our expertise in this field ensures that we can deliver on each of these aspects.

Maxi Space have a team of experienced project managers who provide the leadership on site, and in the factory, to deliver successful projects safely.

Our Project Managers are involved early in the DfMA process. They bring practical experience to ensure the project can be delivered successfully and commissioned ready for service on time and to budget.

We invest time early in the concept design process in order to understand the site constraints and logistical requirements. We ensure that the modularisation of the design is compatible so the delivery and install process runs to clockwork precision.

Our Risk Assessment and Method Statement are key to delivering the project safely for everyone, with a capability of delivering up to 10-15 modules a day.

We follow an audited, quality-controlled system giving consistency of performance and since each client and site has specific needs, our skills and experience is well-developed in delivering service through thorough understanding of our clients needs.

During the life of a building there will be scheduled maintenance, internal refurbishment or re-configuring. We can provide a service for this as well as possible extensions to the existing structure. Our modular design ensure that this can all be achieved with ease as well as providing the option to re-locate the whole building.

The importance of building a community with a viable use case for a site will require an understanding of how best to curate and operate the site. In developing the land, the owner may only want a passive relationship with the buildings.
