The challenge
Telehouse West Two is a nine-storey, 34,000m2 data centre taking shape at Telehouse’s Docklands campus, one of Europe’s most connected data centre hubs. Flynn is delivering the build, working across a demanding structural programme of steel framing and 97 rotary piles reaching up to 50m deep, all on a live central London site.
A project of this scale required welfare facilities that could support a large daily workforce, including induction, security, washing facilities, and office space, while taking up minimal space on the construction site.
The solution
Maxi Space supplied a 48-bay modular solution, a triple-storey welfare building.
The ground floor includes the canteen, security room, and induction room. The first floor has shower blocks and drying areas, separated for male and female use. The second floor holds office space, a kitchen, meeting rooms, and toilets for the management team.
Delivery & Install
The units were manufactured off-site before being transported to the Telehouse Docklands campus and pieced together on site. Building it this way meant the welfare facilities could be set up quickly, without adding any extra pressure to the construction site.
Once in place, the building gave the team the essential facilities they needed, across three clear floors on site.
