Primary and nursery learning spaces in the North East

The challenge

When significant structural issues were discovered in several ageing school buildings, North Tyneside Council faced an urgent need to relocate up to 300 students to safe, functional teaching environments. With repair work underway and classrooms unavailable, the council required a fast and dependable temporary solution that could restore on-site education without long delays or disruption.

The solution

Maxi Space supplied a series of modular buildings designed to replicate a complete educational environment during the repair period. The setup included:

  • 10 classrooms
  • 1 nursery building
  • Full groundworks to prepare the site
  • Post-work landscaping to ensure a safe and presentable learning area

The building layouts were configured to support daily teaching, provide familiar routines for pupils, and maintain continuity across year groups.

Delivery & install

From the council’s initial phone call to students entering their new classrooms, the entire project was completed in just 12 weeks. This rapid turnaround included ground preparation, manufacturing, delivery, installation, internal fit-out, and final landscaping to ensure that students were back in a safe, functional learning space as quickly as possible.

Testimonials

“Maxi Space were excellent; they delivered exactly what we asked for. We had a very short time span for this project due to the circumstances we found ourselves in. Maxi Space supported us at every level, fast-tracking the design process, initiating manufacturing during the planning process and working through the night at times to ensure that the building was completed in time.”
