The challenge
EdAct, a multi-academy trust operating across five sites in North London, required a dedicated modular building to support students with special educational needs. The space needed to function as both a classroom and a therapy area, providing an environment that felt calm, comfortable, and inviting while also meeting accessibility needs.
The solution
Maxi Space designed a single-storey modular building featuring:
- One large, bright, open-plan room suitable for teaching and therapy
- An integrated restroom with shower facilities
- A layout intentionally created to feel welcoming and supportive for students
The design balanced practicality with comfort, ensuring the space could serve multiple functions while maintaining a positive atmosphere for learners.
Delivery & install
The project included full ground works, preparing the site for a seamless installation. Once the groundwork was complete, the modular building was delivered and installed quickly, with the new classroom and therapy facilities fully operational within just four weeks.
